Challenges
Berkeley Estate Asset Management is progressing the redevelopment of 33 Cavendish Square into a £1bn mixed-use scheme, with construction due to commence in three years. We were asked to devise compelling meanwhile uses appropriate to the West End, capable of being installed during this interim period.
Solution
We designed a temporary, publicly accessible viewing platform and hospitality space cantilevered 80 metres above the site. Constructed from a hoist and fully demountable, the structure offers unprecedented views across central London, a glazed floor revealing Oxford Circus below, and a 360-degree open-air viewing terrace.
